Sorry it has been so long between posts.

Hi all

Wow, it's been a while.  Had tech problem getting into blog.  Took a lot of tweaking.  really strange.  but, here i am about 12 tech emails and more later.  it works!

hope everyone has stayed close to not only 60s generation, but the BluesRoot project as well.  here's an update on the Root.

       Issue 11 Nov 2006                  rootmaster@bluesroot. net                       (716) 631-2043 (New BluesRoot telephone number.)

More changes to www.bluesroot.net. When you go to the  FanCenter you’ll see yet another addition to the website.  We’ve posted the Rootmaster’s Video Blog.  Check the posts. Add your replies.  Get down with da Root!  And don’t forget to check out the new jukebox and video player we told you about in last month’s newsletter.   .

Dramatic jump in listenership on BluesRoot Radio in October. .  The number of fans checking out the tunes daily increased from September’s impressive 647 to 1,198!  That’s more than an 80% increase.  That also means over 34,000 folks during the month!  In addition the number of presets jumped from 379 to 463. Our streaming 24/7 radio station featuring CD quality sound…of all the old greats…’50’s rock, rockabilly and the blues…plus “da Root..”   Check it out at www.live365.com/bluesroot.

Online mentions (links) soar also.

Online mentions of “BluesRoot” has increased by nearly 100% in one month on the six major search engines …from 25,000 to over 47,000! Yahoo alone mentions us over 40,000 times.

Don’t forget our videos on your favorite vid site! BluesRoot videos continue to spread around the internet. In addition to listings on Google, YouTube, and Vimeo, you can see the Root on MySpace also.
”That’s All Right Mama”, “House of the Rising Sun” and our own “Hold Tight Mama” are the most popular getting ratings from good to exceptional.

Putting together next year’s gig schedule both locally and around the country.  Our management team is talking to several chains include HardRock.  Want to start in March and hit WV, Va, Md,  NC, SC, and Ga…in addition to NY, Oh, and Pa.  Management, all though independent, will work through BluesRoot Entertainment, newly formed company under JDM Promotions, LLC.

The Root has its own telephone number now too.  Call us at 1 716 631-2043.  Fax toll free to 1 866 712 1091.

Local CD distribution is needed.  The Root needs local locations to sell our CD’s.  If you are a small business person, or know someone who is…let us know if we can supply CDs on consignment for sale.  We will promote and list in all our activities around the area. In addition, the profit margin is attractive as well.  We  even supply the small counter top CD rack.  Cool.  rootmaster@bluesroot.net.

It was a record month for visitors to www.bluesroot.net.  Daily averages increased over 28%, and during the month (October), over 24,000 folks stopped by to check us out.  Still a long way from goal of 100,000 a month, but we’re making great progress.  Visitors are still coming from around the world regularly as well.  Thanks everyone.

Don’t forget the website is now translated into 12 languages.  Repeating this from last month, but it’s important. Check out the new tool bar near the top of each BluesRoot webpage.  The flags indicate the country that the site page can be translated into immediately when someone visits the site.  Simply click on the flag of your choice and see what the Root looks like around the world.  Neat addition that should appeal to international visitors of course.

Starting to work on next CD.  Actually beginning to put together the next two CDs.  One, will be Root versions of some of the old classics.  We will tweak them, do them live, and take it from there.  The  other CD will be originals.  Songs are written, but working on arrangements (with two guys that shouldn’t be too hard…yea, right!)  Want to have one or the other be out next summer, but we’ll see.

In addition, the Rootmaster is toying with a  solo CD done in the style of, and covering, some of the obscure, yet great, songs of the early Delta blues era.

Live. Real. In the moment CD Sales update.  Rhapsody continues to pull away from the pack on sales.  Most are single song, a lot are paid listens.  iTunes has done well.  They are both digital of course…the future of all music sales.  Hardcopy sales are being led by Amazon.  By the way add this rss feed to your feed viewer and get full Root songs anytime.  Pass this ling along to all your friends as well. Sample the Root without the hassle. http://feeds.rhapsody.com/bluesroot/9781579_liverealinthemoment/tracks.rss

Added a cool life-in-‘50’s video to www.bluesroot.net.  Check it out.  It’s only 4 minutes long.

Check out  the Rootmaster’s column in After 50 magazine or check it out online at www.after50news.com   It’s simply called 60s Generation and covers all the cool things from the 1950s and ‘60s including lifestyle, changes, music and just memories.

Working on new material and staging.  Adding a few new tunes that are historically relevant..  Also working on staging ideas.  Hey folks want the shows to become even cooler for you!  Might solicit some ideas.  Got anything in mind for da Root, just email to rootmaster@bluesroot.net.

Happy Thanksgiving.  Enjoy the holiday’s starting with Thanksgiving.

Last note. As always, the BluesRoot project is so cool…having the time of my life.  Who would have thought that an old guy could have this much fun.  But I will never forget that it’s because of your support. rootmaster@bluesroot.net.

Hope this brings you somewhat up to speed.

take care

BluesRoot project continues to expand.

Emusic. com and gemm.com begin carrying “Live. Real. In the moment” CD.

BluesRoot’s “Live. Real. In the moment” CD has added two more active outlets including  leading music subscription service, www.emusic.com. Global Electronic Music Marketplace (GEMM) has also taken the CD.  Worldwide impact continues to increase with  thirty one major distributors, representing hundreds of both digital download and physical product locations, and over 2,400 stores worldwide,  in line to offer the ten song release.

First sales numbers are coming in (found out there is a long, long lag time in this!), and first day sales (March 25) on just one outlet, www.rhapsody.com listed 31 paid downloads.  Now, if you spread that….huh!

Don’t forget  that additional online outlets now carrying the CD include: towerrecords, AppleiTunes, Rhapsody,    amazon.com, cdbaby.com,  borders, target, virginmega.com, waldenbooks, cdnow.com, and mp3-extension.

A complete list of current, and planned, distribution outlets  can be found  at www.bluesroot.net/cdstore.html.

The CD is also available on the BluesRoot website, www.bluesroot.net, and at BluesRoot shows.

Take care

Here's the latest on my BluesRoot project

www.bluesroot.net

          Issue 6, June, 2006

rootmaster@bluesroot.net

From the Rootmaster (John Moore)

More sites and outlets go live for “Live. Real. In the moment” CD.

BluesRoot’s “Live. Real. In the moment” CD distribution continues to grow.  Thirty one major distributors, both digital download and physical product, and over 2,400 stores worldwide are in line to offer the ten song release.

The number of outlets currently carrying the CD has grown in June also.  Hard copy additions include drumbeatmusic.com, and netsoundmusic.com out of the UK, 4cdmusic.com and musicsea.info.  Digital additions include payplay.fm and interia.  Interia is Poland’s leading music source.

In addition, MPGreek, the leading music outlet for Greece, has decided to include the BluesRoot CD, although it is not for sale there yet.

Rollout dates for “Live. Real. In the moment” on each service is at the discretion and timing of each one.

The CD was officially released March 25, 2006. Additional online outlets now carrying the CD include: towerrecords, AppleiTunes, Rhapsody,    amazon.com, cdbaby.com,  borders, target, virginmega.com, waldenbooks, cdnow.com, and mp3-extension.

A complete list of current, and planned, distribution outlets  can be found  at www.bluesroot.net/cdstore.html.

The CD is also available on the BluesRoot website, www.bluesroot.net, and at BluesRoot shows.

BluesRoot’s name is getting around!

Over 2,600 websites now have inbound links to www.bluesroot.net, and search engine mentions of all things BluesRoot are now in the thousands.  Hey, they’ve got to be able to find us!

In addition, “da Root” has been listed in 1,120 online music directories.

BluesRoot Radio is gathering listeners too!

www.live365.com/stations/bluesroot gives listeners a chance to hear the great early songs of blues, rock ‘n roll and rockabilly, along with historical insight and BluesRoot originals.  Popularity is growing for our streaming 24/7 internet radio station.  Average listenership has doubled in the last 30 days and “presets” have increased dramatically as well.  This growth has been noted by online radio station directories including Toast which gives BluesRoot Radio a 9.14 (out of ten) rating, and MusicRebellion which has awarded the station a five-star designation.  And, BluesRoot songs…”Whiskey’s all gone”, “So tired of lyin’”, and “Hold tight mama” continue to get “exceptional” reviews from listeners.

Will be returning to Morgantown, WV for West Virginia University campus club shows in September and October during their crazy football season (picked by ESPN to win the National Championship.)

Still don’t know for sure, but BluesRoot may be headed overseas to entertain our servicemen and women. Stayed tuned!  In addition, working on a weeklong gig in Key West, Florida.

June 3 Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation Show!

Thank you for your support…the sponsors, the individuals…everyone.  Show was a success.  Well attended.  Sold out.  It was a fantastic night, and you all made it possible.  And a special thank you to local cable station LCTV which did a three camera shoot of the entire concert.  Starting airing on June 17th in a two hour block.  Aired six times this weekend.  Try to catch it…may see yourself!

Need a little more Root?  Get it free!

For those of you in the Buffalo, NY area, here’s two dates to remember.  BluesRoot will be featured in two free outdoor concerts.  On Tuesday, July 25th, the Root will be playing in the town commons on Grand Island, NY, and on Friday September 1 we will headline the Labor Day Weekend Blues Tent Party by the River at the Grand Island Holiday Inn Resort.  Both are early evening shows, so come on out!

Lots happening in the land of the 60's Generation!

Busy. Busy. Busy.  But a  lot of fun at the same time!

BluesRoot music project has picked up a  full head of steam.  Currently, my new CD "Live. Real. In the moment." has hard copy distribution at amazon.com, target.com, borders.com, waldenbooks.com, tower.com (tower records), virginmega.com, cdnow.com, and cdbaby.com.  There are a whole lot more outlets on the way.  Product is being placed in select stores too.

But perhaps the most exciting part is the digital download distribution part of the deal.  So far 16 of the leading music download suppliers (accounting for 90% of the digital online download outlets) have ordered product.  In fact, you can get BluesRoot already on AppleiTunes around the world.  Yahoo, MSN, Rhapsody, Wal-Mart, Starbucks etc are on the way.

It's amazing for a guy my age who recorded these ten originals live and sent them off on a lark.

BluesRoot Radio has been a valuable source for research.  Currently three songs are  in rotation on that streaming internet radio station (and on others as well).  On a scale of 1 to ten, thousands of visitors have rated the songs as follows:  So Tired of Lyin 8.6, Hold Tight Mama 8.7, and Whiskey's all Gone 9.1...all rated exceptional. Amazing!

Hope you have a  chance to check out the tunes.  You can hear clips on BluesRoot.

Clothing is also beginning the move.  BluesRoot Apparel forever!

Life takes funny turns.

Peace. Love. Happiness to all.

Distribution spreading for new CD

Maybe it's because they all want a piece of this old guy before I fall over.

Live. Real. In the moment CD is now available on amazon.com, waldenbooks.com, target.com, cdnow.com, borders.com and walmart.com as well as on the BluesRoot website and of course at cdbaby.com.  Expect this list to grow.  Now if I only sell some.

Doing a neat event in support of the Children's Foundation in June.  Cool.  Doing music again at my age and then having the ability to help out is more than I imagined.  BluesRoot rocks!

By the way, new store is up also...all kinds of BLuesRoot Gear. Check it out.

Subject change.

Had to smile this morning and shake my head when I watched cable news and an interview with a couple of politicians just back from Iraq.  Seems they delivered a message to the leadership there to "get on with building a government because the US people were losing patience."  Now, right or wrong, I seem to remember that we invaded Iraq and toppled the government there.  Funny how they are dragging their feet isn't it?   Think I'll go live in a mountain retreat without television!

Subject change.

Lots of changes to some of my web sites and a new one up.  Check this out.  thanks.

take care
